Christmas is a time of giving and helping others, after all it is the season to be jolly and generous. iCare charity have continued to work tirelessly in displaying their annual Christmas extravaganza in the home of their headquarters, Milford.
The infamous tale of Christmas certainly meets its maker when it comes to Santa’s Gatelodge where iCare execute a Christmas miracle each year in their epic Christmas adventure. The magical display takes its guests on a journey throughout the 130 year old Gatelodge grounds, crossing paths with a team of Elves, a Fairy Godmother, Mrs Claus and of course, Santa Claus himself. With tremendous planning each year, iCare are able to raise funds through their Christmas display that is fit to make even the very Grinch scream – Merry Christmas!
The Christmas wonderland allows its guests to make a wish around the magical Christmas tree, visit Santa’s house to meet Mrs Claus and share a story with the Fairy Godmother before setting off by tractor and trailer to the next phase. Guests have an opportunity to experience first-hand, the Elf school and Elf sleeping quarters before having a word with the big man himself, Mr S Claus. Better yet, guests have an opportunity to capture this moment in photograph to document the magical moment for weeks and even years to come. The display is aimed at children of all ages with even the oldest of guest’s opening their vocals to a Christmas carol or two along the way.
The 22-night display of Christmas cheer in 2017 has saw over 5000 people cross the path of the entrance… proving evermore, proof is in the Christmas pudding when it comes to charity. The dedication of volunteers and the spirit that sweeps across the local community are the reasons this display of charitable excellence continues to build year upon year raising funds for the charity. iCare would like to sincerely thank all those who have attended and the 150 volunteers, who no matter what the weather conditions, spread the Christmas cheer for anyone who attended. Just like Santa relying on his Elves this time of year, iCare rely on it’s wonderful volunteers to come together and make the impossible, possible…for that we are eternally grateful. We wish you a safe and Merry Christmas!
